Our system is constantly monitored by various sensors that help us check plant health and system status, and eventually enable the automation of the entire prototype.
As shown below, the sensors send data to a microcontroller (ESP), which communicates with virtual machines that can ultimately send data to a monitor and a digital dashboard hosted on GitHub. Smart plugs are used to automate nutrient delivery and pH adjustments.
